At Their Feet

By Nicollette Marquis McFadgen

Notes: Set early third season. It's not well written, but hey, it's written. It's sort of unrealized.

It had been three months since Drusilla had left Spike. Now, he was back in Sunnydale, secretly raising a new clan and searching. He was searching for the one who would spend centuries by his side. He had given up on getting Dru back when he found out that she was shacking up with a Master vampire in Mexico City.

Spike had managed to raise a decent number of new vampires, all ready to do his will. His own sire, Angelus, had been cursed with a soul, so there would be no power struggles with him. Mr. Trick, on the other hand, had a great deal of power.

On his third week back in town, Spike had met with the Mayor and had worked a deal with him and Trick. They would work together when necessary, but they would leave each other be and live peaceably with each other.

On one dark and surprisingly chilly evening, Spike saw her. He saw the woman that would be his new princess. She had long legs and a well proportioned body. She was a bit taller than Drusilla, but that didn't matter. She had dark hair and dark eyes and Spike wanted her.

The girl was walking with her boyfriend and Spike could see that they were both carrying stakes and crosses. They were a part of the Slayer's group. Spike smiled, he loved challenges.

Sneaking up behind the male, all Spike had to do was punch him in the back of the head. The boy crumbled, with a groan, to the ground. The girl whipped around, holding out her cross, a look of panic etched over her features.

Spike growled, but forced his demon down. "Come on pet, don't be like that." In response, the girl just held the cross closer to his face. His face shifted and knocked the cross away, hissing when it touched the skin on his hand. "Okay, be like that. But it'll hurt more."

Wrapping his hand in her hair, Spike moved his other arm around her throat, cutting off her oxygen supply. The girl struggled and was surprisingly strong, but not at all strong enough to fight off Spike. He was dead set on having her.

**

The girl awoke in a sparsely decorated room. She looked around then tried to get up. She found that she couldn't, not because she was tied to anything, but because her head hurt something fierce.

"Hello, pet."

The girl looked around, trying to see who it was that spoke. It was then she remembered. Spike had hit Xander and then attacked her. She was in trouble and she was pretty sure she couldn't get out of it. Struggling, she sat up, but before she could move again, Spike was there next to her, his hands clutching her upper arms. She squeaked in fear.

His voice was tender. "What's your name, luv?" She didn't answer and Spike shook her a bit. "Your name?" he asked a little more forcefully.

"C-Cordelia," she whimpered. "Please let me go."

Spike ignored her and brushed back her hair from her face. "Cordelia. A lovely name." He leaned in to place a kiss on her trembling mouth, but she cowered back. "I'm not going to hurt you, luv." She stilled enough for him to kiss her. His cold tongue swept into her mouth as his hands moved around her back, pressing her forward into him.

Moving slowly, his mouth found her neck. For a moment, Spike just sucked on the flesh, but soon the smell of her fresh blood just centimeters below her skin got to be too much. His face shifted and he sank his teeth into her, reveling in the taste of her blood.

Cordelia struggled, but as time went on, she got cold; too cold to fight anymore. Slumping against him, Cordelia's eyes slipped closed and she waited to die.

Death never came. Instead, a cool metallic liquid seeped through her lips and down her throat. Her strength began to rebuild. Sucking forcefully on the wrist held to her mouth, Cordelia drew in more blood and delighted in the power she'd been given.

The wrist was wrenched away and before Cordelia could protest, she fell unconscious.

**

"Wake, luv," Cordelia heard from somewhere beyond her heavy fatigue. Her eyes fluttered over and she was greeted with the sight of Spike looming over her. She moaned, her hand moving to her head. "Yes. You'll have a headache for a little while, but..."

"It's gone now," Cordelia said confidently as she sat up. She turned to Spike with narrowed eyes. "You killed me."

Spike smiled his most charming smile. "I had to. I wanted you and this was the only way that I could have you."

Moving off the bed, Cordelia look at her tattered clothing before returning her gaze to Spike. "What if I don't want you?"

Shocked, Spike stuttered. "W-wh-what?" No fledgling had ever said anything like that to him before. Didn't want him? "What are you talking about, luv? I made you, you're mine."

"I see," Cordelia said as she moved over to him, her hands peeling away her clothing. "I'm yours."

Before he knew what was happening, Spike was being pushed down onto the bed, his clothes torn from him. Spike just let it happened. If she wanted to play, he'd let her.

**

Moving off of her sire, Cordelia grabbed a brush from the nightstand and studied it. It was old and silver with etchings of butterflies on the back. "You're into girly things?"

Spike, still recovering from his orgasm, shook his head. "Got it for you."

She shrugged and ran the brush through her hair. "I'm hungry."

"I bet you are, luv."

Rolling her eyes, Cordelia stood up and walked around the room. Spike sat back and admired her stunningly beautiful naked body. "So where's the food?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

He chuckled softly. "We have to hunt it, pet."

"No, really?" Cordelia asked sarcastically. "It's day light, moron. How do we hunt during the day?"

"Um, pet," he said, trying to keep his voice tender. "I'm the Master vampire here. Calling me a moron just isn't wise."

"Why? Are you going to punish me, or even kill me?" A sly smile appeared on her lips as she slipped on a red silk kimono. "You're weak. It's the first thing I smelled when I woke up, *pet*."

Getting annoyed, Spike moved off of the bed. "I'm weak?" She smiled at him, nodding. "Weak? Then why is it I dominated for nearly two hundred years?"

Cordelia laughed wickedly. "Dominated? You?"

Shoving her up against the wall, Spike snarled, "Yeah, me."

"Oh. That's interesting. Angel said that you were completely dependent on him until he was cursed with a soul."

Spike growled at the mention of his sire. "Most fledglings are."

"Pity. And then you had Drusilla. And you can't fool me, Spikey. You drew your power from her."

"Then why do I have over a hundred vampires out there," he pointed to the door, "all following me?"

Her cruel laugh sounded again. "Because they're retards, Spike. If they had any idea how weak you were, they'd be working for someone else." Cordelia shoved him away and straightened her kimono. "I'm going to turn Xander tonight, after I've fed."

"You're going to what?"

"I think you heard me," she said, her voice cold, as she opened the door and moved out into the long hallway.

"You're a fledgling, you aren't allowed to change anyone and you most certainly will not change him." Spike followed her, forgetting about his lack of clothing. "Where are you going."

"To find food, you idiot. And I will change Xander."

Spike grabbed her arm roughly and slammed her hard against the wall, pinning her there. "Now you listen to me."

"No. You listen to me. You changed me, for that I thank you, but you don't own me and you don't rule me."

He swung her around and forced her up against the other wall, not noticing the group of fledglings who had come to see what the noise was about. His hand drew back to strike her when her leg shot out and connected with his groin. Cordelia's blow was powerful; it forced Spike to relinquish his hold on her and double over with pain.

Cordelia wasted no time. Bringing her doubled fists down onto his back, she forced him to the floor. "You're weak," she hissed at him as she sat down on his back and pulled his head into her arms. Cordelia twisted his neck until she heard a few cracks, then she stopped. "Give?"

Spike said nothing. "Do you submit?" she asked him, an evil smile setting on her face when he whispered yes. "Good." She let go of his head the stood up. Bringing her foot down on his back, Cordelia smiled at the crowd of vampires when she heard the telltale snap of his spine.

"Now," she said as she turned to her clan. "Spike's no longer in charge. I am. I need two volunteers." Cordelia didn't have to wait very long. Within a minute nearly everyone's hand were extended. She picked a large male and a small female. "Go find him a room and put him there. I want his arms bound and he's only to be fed twice a day. I can't have that back healing too quickly, can I? Do you understand?" she asked as if she were talking to children.

They nodded, mumbling, "Yes, Mistress."

"Now the rest of you go back and get some sleep. There's only a few hours until nightfall." The crowd began to move away, talking in hushed tones. Cordelia stopped a fragile looking male. He jumped at her touch. "Show me where the food is kept. I'm hungry."

"Y-yes, Ma'am," he whispered.

She hadn't even had her first kill and already she was dominating the clan.

**

Cordelia dressed herself in her tattered clothing and walked stealthy to the park. She was all too aware of the Slayer's hunting grounds. Finding the pay phone, she slipped inside and punched zero on the keypad. "I'd like to make a collect call, please. Cordy. 555-1718"

Cordelia waited as the rings sounded in her ear. She was hoping that he'd be home, but one could never tell. He might've been out searching for her. After the sixth ring, she was about to give up when someone picked up the phone. "Hello?"

"Hello," the recorded voice said. "You have a collect call from..." "Cordy" "...Will you accept the charges?"

"Yes, yes, of course," Xander said frantically. He tried to speak again but got cut off by the recorded voice thanking him. "Cor? Corbaby, are you there?"

"Yes," she whimpered with a smile. "I'm here. Xander, you have to help me."

"Where are you?"

"I got away, Xander. Come get me, I'm scared."

"Where are you?" he asked more frantically. "Cordy?"

"Xander," she cried. She was impressing the Hell out of herself with her acting abilities.

"I'm going to get Buffy."

"No! Come get me now."

"Where are you, Cordy?"

"I don't know."

"Look around. Tell me what you see."

"There's trees and sidewalks and swings...Xander I'm scared. It's nighttime...he could come back!"

"Okay, I'll be right there. Don't worry and stay where you are."

"Do you know where I am?"

"Yes. I'll be there in five minutes."

**

Cordelia sat down on a wooden bench and waited for him to show. While she waited, she tore her clothes even further and scraped at her skin, making herself bleed. She needed to look bloodied and battered.

"Cor?" she heard in the distance. "Cordelia?"

"H-here," she called out as she sank down to the ground and curled herself into a ball. It wasn't but thirty seconds later when she felt Xander beside her. She could hear his heart beat. Inwardly smiling, she jumped away from his touch. "X-Xander?"

"Yeah, baby." He held out his arms to her, gasping when he saw her blood. "Cordy..."

She flung herself into his embrace and held him tightly. After a moment, Cordelia began to lick at his neck and before he could ask her what she was doing, her face morphed and she attached her mouth to his flesh. Her teeth lacerated the skin and her mouth pooled with his warm, rich blood.

"Cordelia..." he whispered. He sagged against her, too shocked to try to fight.

When she had drained him nearly all the way, she laid his head on her thigh and brought her wrist up to her mouth. She tore at her own skin then held it over his mouth. Cordelia smiled when he began to drink her blood.

**

Cordelia and Xander walked out into the crisp, cool, night air. They were both dressed in black leather, their hair perfectly gelled and sculpted. Xander wrapped his arm around her waist as she looked behind her, making sure most of her clan was following.

They had big plans tonight. Plans that involved taking over Trick's cadre of vamps. Within a couple of hours, Cordelia and Xander would rule the whole of Sunnydale's vampires. They would only answer to the Mayor and they even had plans to rid the town of him.

Soon, the whole town would crumble at their feet.
